A well-educated and skilled workforce is the number one reason businesses cite for starting up or relocating to our state. Education is a key component of our economic success and is responsible for building the middle class in America. Education lifted me out of poverty, as it has for thousands of our citizens. New Hampshire prides itself on having an education system that attracts people and businesses to the State. If we want this to continue, we need to invest in our K-12 and higher education systems. As governor, I will do everything in my power to make sure that the State delivers on its responsibility to provide an adequate education to our children. Our young people deserve an education that prepares them for meaningful jobs, and all our citizens need access to quality continuing education as they pursue their careers.
